ON A ROLL
Cadence Films is on fire these days….adding five AMAZING directors to their roster in as many months. Lion winner Clemens Purner is the most recent addition and joins Francesco Calabrese (swoon), Valentin Petit, Syrine Boulnouar, and Paul Franco.
Clemens Purner adds strong visual story telling that hints at subtle clever subversivness. He combines those performances and narratives with a unique and studied art direction often expressed through interestingly muted color palettes. Check out his Lion winning work for Volkswagon.
Francesco Calabrese is everywhere these days (LA, Paris, NY, Italy)….as is his work. His inaugural campaign at Cadence happens to be the inaugural campaign for Virtue’s collaboration with LuLu Lemon Men’s line featuring surfer Mark Healy, punk legend John Joseph, activist Ibn Ali Miller, rapper Zebra Kahn, and US Olympic Boxer Orlando Cruz.
Francesco applied his stunning camera design and use of color to bring out the zen in each of these very interesting and active men. Ad Age, Ad Week, Creativity, fashion blogs, and business mags all caught on and applauded the work:

Director/Photographer Valentin Petit….OMG, this man is super talented…his raw yet elegant style shines in his photographs and films. Lush, dark, edgy, beautiful, emotional. Take a look:
The joy that is director Paul Franco brings bounce and flair with his bright, natural filmic style and performances ….a favorite of high end fashion houses like Givenchy.
Finally, Syrine Boulanouar is just the coolest. Super well known for his music video work in the emerging and amazing hip hop scene in Paris. Raw, strong, rich visuals of real life on the streets of Paris is not all couture and romance. Some real sh*t goes down there….and Syrine give us a glimpse of that through his lens.
