Dogs Bring Out the Best in Us in Barking Owl’s New Work for Pedigree
It’s October 6, 1777, and General George Washington and the American Continental Army has just lost a major engagement, the Battle of Germantown, to the British Army led by Sir William Howe. A soldier discovers that a terrier belonging to General Howe has wandered into the American encampment, providing a window of opportunity to avenge over 100 American lives lost in the battle. In a touching turn of events, General Washington, an avid dog lover, decides to return the terrier to his rightful owner with a message of goodwill.
This small moment in American (and canine) history was uncovered in BBDO’s latest work for Pedigree’s “Feel the Good” campaign. Dogs bring out the best in people, and Pedigree has focused on highlighting stories where that is truly exemplified.
Barking Owl created a beautiful soundscape to accompany the piece, emphasizing the bitter chill of an October evening. As dog lovers and history lovers too, The Family applauds Barking Owl and sound designer Morgan Johnson for shedding some light on how our four-legged friends make us better people!
